Sigh of relief....
When I first left my old SA church I became very concerned about my up and coming replacement. (Turns out he got paid more then twice my old salary which really irked me. To find that out was really a slap in the face)....Well to the point...
I got a call from my old friend the youth pastor (who left 3 weeks after I did) today with the news that my replacement quit. He came across the info while searching churchstaffing.com for potential jobs for himself. I was shocked but very pleased to find that out. I was relieved to know that this poor guy and his family were spared from any further abuse. I had been praying that his eyes would be open to the truth and that he and his family would be protected. All that "gladness" though wasn't all innocent. I was glad to see my old SA church not doing so well. The poor guy only lasted 6 months.
I am really hoping that this is the beginning of the end for that church especially if they refuse to get things right.
It looks like in the last 6 months they've hired the senior pastors son and two ex congregation members all in what appears to be an effort at making the church look healthy and growing. Somehow I doubt that a church of less than a hundred people needs or can support 8 full time staff members. Not when they couldn't even hardly pay the youth pastor and myself.
It sure makes one wonder if God's hand is truly on a church when it goes through 3 youth pastors, 4 worship leaders and a secretary in less than 4 years. All but one quit.
