Hi:
I'm new. Formerly in abusive church bla bla bla. I believe I am finally in a safe church, yet I still hold to old programming - that the pastor's words are almost the ultimate in spiritual authority and are final, etc. My new church tells me this is not so. I wanted to come on here and ask - what is exactly the role of the pastor. I mean, if I am not supposed to just do whatever he says - then what is he there for? (Besides giving sermons and doing church administration and vision)? My new church says that I can disagree with the pastor regarding decisions in my life. My leader told me that tonight. I was shocked. Floored. What exactly is he there for then? I just wanted to ask. Thanks. dbw27 |
