Default Kids say the most unexpected things

I think everyone is aware that our grandson of 6 has been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder. That being said, he has few social antennae and is very literal in his intrepetation of events and statements. Recently after being blessed with what is called wrap around services they have a therapist in the house for several hours each day to help diagnose behaviors and teach mom and dad how to deal with the little guy. He is aware of the "changes" in the family system, and although not easily, he is coping well with the new rules and their enforcement - which brings me to the story below.

The other night mommy and daddy were "certain everyone" was sound asleep so they decided to indulge in a some intimate communication.

Suddenly a voice says,"What are you up to in there?"

Now being mature adults, they responded, "Nothing!"

Next came the voice, "Whatever nonsense you 2 are up to, you can just cut it out NOW, tomorrow is a school day and we have to get early!"

They were laughing too hard to answer, so again they were chastised. "Don't make me have to come in there and have to settle you 2 down!"

That did it the romance was gone...

I rest my case. 6 years old, autistic and already a disciplinarian exceptionale.
