Default Feeling like a vampire at a garic festival

A window dresser at department store felt of this time of year, "Saying you do not like the holidays is like being a vampire at a garlic festival'.

For some reason, I am feeling like a caged rat. The holiday locally feels as about as welcome as a visit from a door knocking group.

We were caught up in the holiday nuttiness at work. Thankfully I have not had to endure mandatory overtime on the phones working in a support division. I tried to escape from the holiday milieu. No such luck. I decided to go to the library. There was a chorus doing seasonal numbers out of key. So much for peace and quiet. I went to my Thursday night AA meeting. Two guys wearing seasonal garb burst into the meeting and took over the meeting. Needless to say, I did not feel safe. I was treasurer that night, "Take over, Nick, I am outta here". Today all the employees kids are going to be in building having lunch with Santa.

I know the dangers of resentment, but I am feeling pressured to celebrate when my heart is simply not in it.
