Default Excerp from Restoring the Years, Daily Reflections

November 4
A spiritual man may love light, and yet be totally numb in the chest area.
-- Robert Bly

When our definitions of what constitutes inspiration are cerebral, narrow and restrictive, we tend to vilify even our own feelings and emotions. It is a spiritual law that when we discount the reality of the emotional interchange between the creature and the creator, we infer that there is only room for input and no need of expression.
But life is about giving and receiving. When we do not allow ourselves to respond to what we believe to be spiritual light coming into our lives, we find ourselves walking in darkness. Inspiration is not for the sole purpose of pointing out our flaws. It also serves to awaken our authentic self and empower it for fantastic living!
So, as we ponder the idea of God's messages to us, let us leave space for the unexpected. Let us feel the things we are feeling and in our honesty before heaven and earth, respond and express what is on our hearts - without regard for what is proper in the eyes of people! God values not impression or status - but an honest heart !

I am finally getting used to the idea that I am acceptable to God.
