I found this story yesterday and now can't find the link
![]() I wanted to share it however as it really lifted my spirits. At one of the Boxing Day Tsunami sites.. I read about the elephants in Thailand. According to the Owners/Operators of the Elephants there, when the Earthquake that caused the tsunami occured, the elphants starting crying, they were described as not calling to each other, but actually weeping. They settled them down and they were fine for about another hour when they started crying again. The ones that were free, freed the other elephants that were chained and they started rushing towards high ground. After the waters hit, they headed back down to the disaster area where they then started pulling children out of the water with their trunks and tossing them onto their backs to keep them safe. Many people were rescued this way. The story was just beautiful. Amazing to me that animals can be so courageous and kind.
