Needless to say, yesterday was a very tedious day (as any day one has to attend a funeral is).
Anyway, this lady who died was a member of the church for over 40 yrs. (longer than the pastor has been there). Her and her husband recently left our church, as has many others because of the pastor's pigheadedness.
For my husband and I, it was nice to see our "brothers & sisters" in Christ but, it was so sad. We talked (hubby & I ) about how big our church would be now and how close-knit a "family" we would have if it wasn't for all the "disagreements".
But...life goes on and we both have Wed. night obligations at church, so we went even though we were drained emotionally & physically. Hubby told me this morning he had been talking to Pastors daughter last night and she made a comment about so many people "shunning" pastor yesterday at the funeral. Hubby said he hadn't noticed and walked away. Im proud of him for not falling into that trap. How conceited can pastor be????? YESTERDAY WAS NOT ABOUT HIM!
It's just very sad. Even though she was a member of another church, our pastor still participated in her funeral service which I thought was very nice on her families part to allow that. They even used our fellowship hall afterwards for the wake.
Maybe I'm just venting again. Maybe I'm just overly tired. Whatever the case, thanks for listening. :o
