Just read this today and wanted to share it with you all. I know this article might stir up a lot of emotions ..., but seriously ... condemning the dead at the funeral service ... where's the compassion and love for the family of the bereaved??? Is this how the gospel is being preached??? According to the gospel, Jesus wept for the dead and had compassion for them and their family members.

And the court's ruling was freedom of speech??? Why is prayer in the classroom unconstitutional and the freedom of speech in religion to cause hurt to the public completely constitutional???? A completely puzzling kind of reasoning!

It is tricky. The best treatment of the topic was the second hour of Chris Fabrey live on Moody Radio when he had Greg Wheatley on. Most evangelicals are of mixed minds on this one.

Yes riverdove, it is disturbing. But remember who is behind this....Westboro Baptist Church. Check out their record for this kind of thing. They are crackpots. One of those flies in the ointment.

riverdove, this may give you some comfort.

Just read this article. At least there is one voice of sanity telling it the way it is.

Justice holds allowing "the brutalization of innocent victims" is not necessary to protect free speech

If we want to set our lives right and find peace, it is not the tolerant attitude of others that will do it for us. It will come about, rather, by our learning how to show compassion to them.....

Sorry bunnies not much good news today, and what there is is sad. Anyway is it a simple case of no resources being thrown at the problem or is it a systemic failure in society?

Thanks Reg for the link. How far can these crackpots go to prove their "ignorance?" If that is how they want the world to know about Christianity .... they're not doing a service to the good news message. I hope the people who have been hurt will find that real religion isn't abusive, but that the heart of the gospel message is love and is completely opposite of what they're doing.
