There are hymns which crack me up because of my recovery or cult involvement. I cannot sing that old codependent hymn Rescue the Perishing. A Christmas Carol got reworked because a Marine washome on leave. Somehow we ended singing It Came upon a 0000 Hundred Hour Clear. Today it was a struggle to restrain myself during a Catholic Recessional Hymn thanks to a Jesuit school in the area. It may be a bit irrevent to some. Curiously a woman sitting behind me remembered the concert and understood my plight:
