Hello family...it feels so good to be back here in the forum. Two years, many adventures and stories later, I finally have internet back at home so it won't be so difficult to keep in touch.
We are getting back on our feet after a very difficult two years (surgeries, job losses, moving, difficult finances) but who hasn't had some tough times? All in all GOD is SO GOOD!
But I have had some interesting adventures w/my former SA pastor. He tracked us down on facebook...demanded to be made a friend and wanted us to call him so he could talk to our kids...it was so surreal. Especially since no one has tried to talk to us in almost the two years we've been in TX...
I have learned it takes time to become bound by a SA church, and it takes time to slowly put the pieces back together and sweep away all of the residue. I have found some great healing resources and have even begun to prepare to return to school to be a counselor.
It's funny...just last week someone from our SA church said it was our fault that our blessings were being held up bc we have such bitterness in our hearts...really? I just said, thanks, bc the line,"The Lord laid this on my heart," preceeded her telling me this. I feel such pity for people, but it is so frustrating too.
Her life is falling apart and she had to return to OH, and don't you know it; she went back - and I realized that some people just don't want to be free. They would rather the pain of familiar slavery to unknown freedom and an uncertain freedom.
I am glad to be back, although I see there are many new names. God's blessings on you all.
