Well, who knows that God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Jesus said, "Get in the boat we are going to cross over to the other side; then suddenly a storm came up... mine was a "her-icane" with my husband's name on it just before we head out of here!... But, Jesus is still "Lord of my rocking boat"... and I think I am going to make it.... Then Jesus stood on the shore...and said to His disciples, "Come and Dine"... so we leave for the Oregon Coast and camping for 3 days... then Joshua said to the people, "Get ready... in 3 days we will cross over..." and so they did... on dry ground... so, I will see ya and report back from the good land!:)

Drove by my SA church bringing the moving truck home today and an old thought came to me, "Your beatings always occur on the campus of your education"... they built a christian high school with the money they sold us out for... so strange and wonderful believing I will never have to see that place of "no grace" ever again... I am out of this valley of sorrow... Modesto... it means "Modesty"... it has been anything but... Be back soon.:)

Dear Rose,,,,,
When the tides of life turn against you
And the current upsets your boat

Don't waste those tears on what might have been
Just lay on your back and float :D

Hope that gave you a giggle ;)

Love Jerry

Yeah!... Internet is back on!... thank you Comcast! They just left so I wanted to come here first... we had a great time camping on the OR coast (even with one day of all rain!). We left there Friday last and arrived Sat at
2am in the morning. My back is not happy after unloading the truck, so everything is stil in boxes. We just got an apt so we have a place to land and we will work from here. It is nice enough; 4 walls with a roof, a door and a lock...does not take much to make me happy after all that has happened. BUT, the best part... it is NOT Modesto!!!!!!!!!!:D Thanks for the prayers and great encouragement (yes, Jer... I did get a chuckle) :)

Very happy for you bRose. Too bad we're not fellow Californians anymore but I'm glad you could leave that place in the dust.....and 'shake the dust off your feet', in a sense. Sometimes I wish I could do the same with this place.
Glad you enjoyed Oregon also. I spent a lot of time there as a kid because my grandfather was a commercial fisherman there at Cooz BAy (don't know how spelled). I have lots of memories of getting sea sick but still catching big fish.
I remember the endless, big forests, lots of rain and giant banana slugs.
Hope you enjoy Washington. Congrats!

Thanks everybody!... SO good to be here and yes, JB, this low 70's stuff is not hard to take; left 90's and even a few days of 100 before we got out of there!... Lutty, that is Coos Bay... went right through there before we headed back in to take the I-5. I also spent alot of time on the OR coast; every summer. That's why I love Brookings and Gold Beach; lots of memories and all good (very rare for my childhood! ) Definately a new beginning. We are heading out tomarrow to check out more of the area...AND a young couple from above us here in our apt. complex just introduced themselves today; they are christians and invited us to go with them to their church Sunday! OH, WOW! Here we go... gonna keep our mouths shut about everything in CA! We have decided people will have to earn our trust to hear our story... if ever! A big step... funny that the Lord did this divine appt. first thing when we get here... ok, Jesus... trusting YOU for THEM! stay tuned!

Nice. Yeah I remember the brutal summers in CA. Must be kind of neat though knowing that no one knows about what happened in CA and you can choose to share or not when you want to.

Well... we didnt make it to church... there was an "accidental" stabbing the evening I met the sweet couple next door. Nothing serious, but he was taken by ambulance to get taken care of. His little wife couldn't/wouldn't look anyone in the face as she followed behind. Sad. I am praying about what we do next. He came to the door this morning to see if we were still going, but my husband said we should step back and see how this goes with them. Getting in the car with peoplel we dont know?... DH thought not after this episode. So, perhaps the Lord thought we should go slower about "plugging in" here... so it goes. Still took in David Jeremiah at Shawdow Mt. via internet feed. Ah well.

Life is never boring, is it?

So glad to hear about your decision not to share your story unless the circumstance clearly requires it. I have come to the personal realization that there are people and places that simply cannot "take in" spiritual abuse. And maybe that's a good thing... if one has never been abused or been a part of an abusive church maybe there is no interest in being bothered with the (foreign) topic.

I think I can finally begin to understand how it must appear when others hear our stories without any personal background in the topic. It could be that we have put people "off " and made they wary of us. Because of our intense need to "finally be able to talk and tell our stories we may come across as angry victims of something they don't even know exists.

Keep us posted. It was pretty scary to hear about the stabbing.
