This gratefully recovering overreactor could appreciate some feedback. Apparently Shelly and I were left with the odd sensation that we were seeing Bambi in the same town where our church is located. Some cursory research did indicate that she may be living close to church. I have been regularly in that town ever since I moved from Texas in 2007. Given her skittishness, what feedback could you provide? Having remembered the dawnybrook with the witchy poo, I could see where she may feel a bit creeped out.

With everything at work having settled down to a dull roar, I am not exactly in the mood for going back for an encore.

You can't live in a vacuum. She's going to have to "deal with the fact that she is not alone in town. It's now her problem, don't own it anymore.

If it makes you feel better you could rehearse what you would do or say if you ran into her somewhere. Having a plan makes me feel better. Ignoring her might be your best bet.

You were not harsh in the slightest. If anything you could not have been more kind. I actually worked it out in therapy and was able to detach from the milieu and chalk it up as nothing more than pragmatic coincidence.
