I just had to pass this along. :D I am going to try it tomorrow. If anyone tries it let me know! I thought something sweet would be a nice break from SA. and choc does cure a lot of things....

AM

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

(Won't take long to make two mugs...one for each...then you don't have to share)

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Oh, yummy! You're right it is dangerous but I think it needs a few walnuts--chopped up very fine.

OK - I saw this recipe and it had Dylan written all over it!

I printed it out and handed it to him and we had chocolate cake in 10-15 minutes (till we found all the ingredients)

It is really pretty good! Dylan thought it needed some minor adjustments to taste better, but that could be a matter of fresher cocoa, or just personal preference.

THANKS!!

Hi Anna,

I love the recipe, but I have been getting some blood work done and my glucose levels are too high. The doc says to get it together and bring it down - now. Until this matter is cleared up, I may need to wait a bit. It does sound yummy.:D:D:D

some sugar less food for thought - damn I hate getting older.

Doug,

Replace the sugar with fructose and don't use the chocolate chips. Eating dark chocolate is okay for diabetics. Be sure to follow your piece of cake with some complex carbohydrate after an hour. Steinar (Type 2 insulin dependent) uses cheese on bread made with lots of whole grains and seeds. It works for him. The trick is to avoid the high to low jumps sugars give. That is what does the damage to the body. He also only does this no more than once a week!

Hi Anna,
I may give it a try - the fructose. I am not diabetic but almost everything in my blood work has too high. I have been in the process of undergoing a major lifestyle change, especially, my eating habits like no pop[soda], candy, processed foods etc.

some healthy food for thought - in my case anyway.

"Get thee behind me, Satan." No, I don't believe in a personal devil unless he makes me do something bad which is quite often. ;) Eating this cake might be one of those things.

I made it! It's really really good! Like a brownie in a cup. Beware do not overcook it, which I did, because it looks wet on top.

Great with Butter brickle ice cream.

Did you have to mention the ice cream?! :D

My mom is "seriously urging" me to diet. I'm not fat, but will get there soon if I don't stop eating things like that mug cake - with ice cream. I know, I'll allow myself one once a month for good diet behavior.
