This week I met with my principal in order to discuss some issues I've had this year with her and with the abusive practices of our school district.

A few of us have tried to talk to her before, but like my former boss, she would deflect our accusations.

This time she only deflected half as much as usual and although I was not sanguine that my discussion with her would effect a change, I still knew I had done the right thing by standing up for my rights as a teacher.

At this point in my life I am determined to never put up with abuse again, no matter the source.

If things continue to stay the same here, I informed her that myself and many other good teachers would leave.

I guess we'll see what happens. Regardless, I know I did the right thing.

Congratulations on both your decision and on being proactive.

Thanks everyone! I know many here can relate to what I shared and I look forward to hearing more responses.

I can definitely say that my experience with the cult abuse did help me to have a backbone in this situation. Funny how that worked out - eh?
