So - most of you know that my daughter is expecting. She is a senior in high school and the early months of the pregnancy were hard on everyone involved in the family and church and me!

If I haven't said before, the baby is due March 4th and we're told it's a girl. The pregnancy is progressing well and the baby seems fine, though mom has been struggling with winter colds & viruses.

To highlight our Christmas celebrations, the young father of my granddaughter officially proposed on Christmas Eve after asking my husband's permission to do so. Well aware of that "asking for the daughter's hand" tradition, I haven't known a lot of men who have actually done it!

I feel like the creative and romantic way he planned this all indicates he really wants to marry her beyond the sense of obligation.

I have been very wound up for days, knowing his intentions and held to secrecy for the sake of romance & surprise. Now I'm enjoying the moment and clinging to the faith that God works all things for good...

(you did say ALL THINGS, didn't you God?) :o:p:D

I'm one of the men who asked permission from my future wife's father first. Glad he said "yes". Have any of you seen the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond when his brother asks the parents and they say "no". Hilarious!

Give your daughter a big hug from all us Aussies.
