Things have been taking some interesting twist and turns of late in the Lone Star. I did make written amends with Tammy over my immature attempts at trying to extricate her from her group in 1984-87. At the urging of another forum member, I have left Tammy alone and committed to give all the space she would need to sort things out-- even an eternity if needed. In the meantime there are some marvelous memories and points of reference which I can incorporate in my recovery. Tammy is only one part of my life, but a profound one. I hope we can someday reunite. In the meantime I can take care of customers at work and my wife and I can go bowling [If I can get a moment to spare :D ]
In the meantime I have marveled at the transformation her group has made on the past few years. The leadership in the church in the Dallas area has gone to great pains to make sure it a safe place. The pastor is careful not pressure anyone and urges members to take a similar stance. I am attending a new members class. I would like to remain as an attender as I already have a church home. I also feel I would not be a good fit. I can be brash and iconoclastic. I feel that might undermine what genuine missions the denomination has in mind. I do get a lot out of the pastor's sermons, so I will continue to drop in from time to time. I pray that I can be received as a friend of the church. I also hope I can dialog with members and staff. So far the conversations have been most acomondating.
