I wouldn't call the video triggering.

I didn't quite understand what the speaker's point was, but I thought his choice of wording was unnecessarily ugly. I wouldn't feel compelled to believe anything he said.

Hi riverdove - I found the speakers tone of voice triggering - likely from former preachers, and other adults who feel they have a right to judge and dictate others based on what their closed minds think (or lack of thinking). I believe the speaker was at one time a pastor of the individual being discussed and feels rejected since the individual apparently left his "flock." After listening to the first few lines I turned it off - no need to listen to anyone in that tone.

We had some preachers like that at the bible school. I guess I have been out long enough that I was not triggered. I did remember Nixon's energy speech to turn off all unnecessary appliances -- which I did. I was turned off.

Triggered? No.

He looks to me like a caricature of a black pseudo "RC Cardinal" mixed with a fundamental black southern preacher on a religious/political soapbox auditioning for a role in a movie. I particularly like the bouncers... uh, brothers lined up like back up singers.

So who cares about Senator Obama's mother's marital situation other than religious brown shirts wanting to exercise their hypocritical and judgmental opinions?

That was disgusting! So a child born out of wedlock who, of course, had no choice in the matter can't be president? A child born of mixed race can't be president? Makes me ask, "Who's the bastard?"

It doesn't take much to trigger me. I've heard preachers preaching in the Baptist or Pentecostal style talking about the wonders of the love of God and I'm crawling under a pew.

I can't remember his name but there used to be a preacher that spoke at conferences with Jeff Van Vonderan and he freaked me out. He was condemning spiritual abuse. He was on my side but the sound of that speaking style freaked me out big time.

Okay, if Obama's mother is white trash because she wasn't married to her son's father what does that make Mary of Nazereth? I guess Jesus couldn't be president either.

hi everybody,
I saw the video. The way I see the issue is not the subject mattter of the speech but the speaker. What this man was saying was 'conduct unbecoming of a minister of the gospel.' He has done nothing but wound people.:mad:

I won't want to sit in his church service for sure. I'm glad I can just click on the stop button when I've heard enough. Thanks for all your responses.
