Home sweet home!!

Hi hunnies,
I got home yesterday afternoon. I can't believe I spent the last 3 mos. in the hospital!!
I came home without the TPI (IV nutrition)
I have to eat a high protein high calorie diet and weigh myself every day plus drink 3 Ensure's a day.
PLEASE PRAY I GAIN WEIGHT! If I start to loose weight, they will put me back on the TPI and I will have to have those IV feedings the rest of my life.
Doc said he can reverse my colostomy & illiostomy sometime in mid April. Then I won't have to deal with these bags hanging off of me!
Extremely tired!

I just got back myself - not from the hospital - but my vacation and just read about your ordeal. I can partially sympathize with you when I spent 10 days there last year getting a complete knee replacement. 3 Months would have driven me crazy. After 3 days I couldn't eat the meals any longer. I had to get people to bring in my meals for me. Thankfully, my mother lived close by.

As far as the weight goes, I want to go in the opposite direction. I could lend you 20-30 lbs if you want. :D

Will pray for you to gain weight! Three Ensures a day should do it, as long as you get the "gentle" or "digestive-friendly" kind... THAT should put weight on ya! Brewskis & pizza -- those, too! :D :D :D

thanks for the "welcome back". Had a set back night before last and had to go back in the hospital for the night on iv fluids cause I was dehydrated. Back home now.
Hubby has been great. 3 mos. ago they told him, "she is extremely critical and we're not sure she will make it thru the surgery." I can't imagine how I would react if I got the same news about him.
But...God is good! He saved me for a reason and is giving me my life back (which is really His anyway);)

I bet. That must be wearisome and then some. I can put you on the prayer list at church if you wish. Certainly you have my prayers. How you were going to survive with the internet connection and the forum was a concern for me. I echo the other posts. Welcome back.

yes, PLEASE put me on your prayer list. Prayer is all that has gotten me through this so far and it will be the only thing that will continue to get me through.
I could not have done this alone. It has been ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS that have helped.
