I'm so sorry Janice, I can't even imagine how that feels! I would go crazy too! Have they told you anything about going home?

Dearest Janice, I hereby diagnose you with a severe case of... HOSPITALITIS!!! (Been there, done it many times...) Be cheered by the fact that it is 100% curable. :) :) :) :)

You know the symptoms, obviously... For the benefit of others, here are some of them:

1. You wonder why all you wear, day after day, are RAGS. You used to wear Jones New York sweaters, and pearls, for crying out loud, and high heels and now, all you put on, day after day, are hospital gowns and slippers. Or sweats. This ****s big-time.

2. You start to wonder whether there really is another world out there or whether you just dreamed that "in some other dimension," people actually get up out of their own beds for the day, eat something they like, when they want to, and go out of their cozy houses and drive cars. To places...

3. Your roommate says to you, "Instead of complaining all the time, why don't you try just sitting in your bed and shutting up for a change?" and you reply, "Sorry. No can do. Not wired for that." (That actually happened to me. Three years ago, when I was hospitalized for the better part of three months for septicemia. I was the one being told to shut up. :D )

Janice, I'm there with you. I've been in and out of hospitals since I was 14 months old. I know - what you're going through IS ridiculous. But the Lord will bless you with a reprieve from this; the thing to remember is, this is not your "forever." I know that's hard to do when you're IN it.

What do you think would help? Can we send you some jokes????? Inspirational stuff? What would float your boat out of "stir-crazy?"

Much love in our Lord and Savior,

mary

Heyyyyy..... "stir crazy" sounds a little like "getting better"!

This is a ridiculous comparison... but I remember when I was a kid and had the flu... that stir crazy feeling meant I was almost well! Forgive me if that's an insensitive comparison! The flu is NOTHING compared to what you have been through.

HUGSSSSSSSS

Sorry you are stuck. I can relate slightly. I don't drive and where we live isn't easy to get around, so often times for almost a week at a time I am stuck inside with a five year old and a one year old by myself.

I hope for a speedy recovery. I remember when I was in college and hospitalized for a few days, I too became stir crazy. Just be patient. It's not easy, but maybe there are people there that need you and your story to help them.

Take care!:)
