Okay... :) I admit I watch television more than any other appliance, except when my washer is having a meltdown... Nothing on television (not even Harrison Ford in "Witness") captures my attention more, shall we say, profoundly than watching my washer self-destruct. ;) :p

It's better, though, of course, if it's somebody else's washer that's having a nervous breakdown. Especially if it's on television... Then it becomes a "two-fer." :D :D :D

BTW, what's so bad about infomercials, Jerry? What would poor old Joan Rivers do, for example, if she weren't doing infomercials 24/7? ;) ;) ;) She might have to play Vegas or something, and schlep all that jewelry with her. Or NASA might have to consider putting her on a shuttle, just because, well, outer space would be a good place for her "shtick" - and her infomercials. But then we'd have to decide when we wanted her to come back... We could leave that decision for future generations to make, though. She's got enough silicone and Botox in her to preserve her for thousands of years...

Ah, I'm already exhibiting withdrawal signs from my soon-to-be late writing gig! Sorry, folks... :o

I LOVE "WITNESS"!! I'm from Lancaster County and I saw it on last night....I had to watch, but it made me so homesick! They were filiming it the year we moved there, and when we saw the movie my mother kept saying, "An Amish woman wouldn't have ever let herself be put into that situation..." One of Mama's favorite tag-lines that is going in the book I'm writing called, "Things I Never Want To Hear My Mother Say Ever Again!":D:D:D:D;)

Sorry, this is really random....I'm in a random mood...:p

HA! I was watching "Witness" right along with you last night, Maggie! :D Every time I watch it, I see something different.

As to your mom's observation, that sounds like something my mom would have said... "Never say never," I say. The comedienne Judy Tenuta: "It could happen!" Amish women are still human, and if Harrison Ford galloped into the life of one of them someday... Well... :) :D :) :D

My mom, too, had a lot of sayings that I should really gather into a book - except that my son is going to beat me to it with things that I've said, for crying out loud. He has a lock-down memory and I'd be the first to admit I've said some very weird things in his earshot over the course of his lifetime. Many of them I've forgotten - but he remembers them. Some of them are on his website: AACK! I don't go on his site anymore for fear I'll see myself quoted yet again on there.

Along with "Witness," another movie I keep watching lately because it's slathered all over the movie channels is "While You Were Sleeping." I saw it for the first time ever a couple of months ago and I love it, except for the swearing in it. I absolutely love Glynis Johns in that movie - I loved her when she was on TV and in other movies years ago and she hadn't changed!

Here's to movies, from one movie freak to -- well, I'm sure there are others in this forum! :)
