Here I am! :D
I have been overwhelmed on several fronts - both good and bad.
It took me longer than I expected to deal with the emotional/psychological effects of my brother's words at the time of my mom's death. I don't need to go into detail about that as we all either fight or have fought the same mental battles.
What is it about the heart that makes it nearly impossible to give up on the love of a sibling regardless of their actions? My mother used to use the phrase "He/she is more to be pitied than censored." I feel that way about my brother. Someday in heaven it will be made clear to all of us and we will have eternity to make it right and know true love and joy... THAT is my consolation. So call me Pollyanna - but I'd rather err on the side of mercy and grace, while having the freedom to express my anger and hurt - than becoming a bitter old lady.
I am enjoying the hustle and bustle and wrestling and fighting of little boys... along with the spilled drinks at dinner - I nearly always get wet as I sit between the boys. Reading books, putting Legos together, changing diapers, playing pretend (ate a picnic lunch in the tent on Sunday afternoon) and just enjoying being Grammy.
What a difference between boys and girls. Baby Grace is all that is gentle and silly and soft while the boys are rough and tumble. Would someone please design cars and trucks for little girls? Grace loves crawling around pushing the cars and using the big Tonka trucks as a walker and place to store toys. Why don't little girls get such toys? She is fortunate to have brothers.
I:) have begun to knit! Of course I am taking quite a bit of kidding about it, but they all have scarves and I just finished a sweater for the baby. Old dog,,, new tricks!
Right now could use some prayer for this cold I picked up. Last year I managed to get pneumonia so the kids are threatening me with the doctor... and keeping me tied to a chair and forcing fluids... til I am floating. It is good to be loved.
Thanks for your concerns and good thoughts. I'll try to check in more often
Love and hugs
Anna Marta

I have a brother who is 13 months older than me. I would always play with his toy cars and trucks. I made sure that my daughter had some cars and trucks when she was little, because I remembered how much fun they were. :D She has a brother, but he didn't come along until she was 7 1/2.
I thought of something funny. Make toy trucks and cars in feminine colors, like pink and purple, for little girls! Or maybe powder blue with flowers?(Actually, they do have Barbie doll cars in those colors, but I don't think they have just regular toy cars and trucks in those colors.) :p :D

AHHHHH.... RELIEF! Yes.. YESSSSS... I still have the psychological battles... that's why I was concerned about you. I remember how crazy the first year felt... and I didn't have a crazy brother to deal with.
Thanks for checking in!
HUGS to you

Hi Again
Right Elizabeth! I was thinking exactly the same thing... cars and trucks in pastel colors... so who do we contact? Not that the contact person would benefit from passing an idea on.
Thanks Willow girl... good to have your support and caring.
Health update:
I am to call the doctor tomorrow. I began wheezing this evening. My dear SIL sitting with me on the sofa pointed out that he could hear it and put his foot down about calling the doctor right away.
Will post again to let you know what is going on.

In these unsure times... methinks the Amish and Mennonites are much safer than we are.

Yep, I am bordering on pneumonia... with diminished oxygen levels, bronchitis, and a heck of a sinus infection. Put to bed with a bazooka antibiotic and the offer of an inhaler if I should need it.
Keep the prayers coming.

I am so sorry to read this!!! At least, they've got you diagnosed and you're being treated - and treated well, it sounds like.
I will keep you in fervent prayer.
