Hello everyone.I first posted on here a while ago. Some of you may remember me - I have four kids and was living in a house owned by the abusive church that i was a part of , and my husband is still an elder in .Well, we now have somewhere else to live which is fantastic and I am trying to put my life back together , although this is hard as my husband is still so involved .It is the sort of church that expects it's members to be in meetings all the time so it is difficult ,but better than it was .
I have not yet found a church although I want to - but anything evangelical/ charismatic etc totally turns me of .

congratulations
I am glad to hear that you have a place of refuge. It is part of a new hope and new beginning, even though it may not feel like it now. I just happened to have 20 years out of my group as point of reference.
I am sorry to hear that your husband is still in. That hurts. I will certainly pray that the Lord opens his eyes to what is going on. I have a friend who has been a fundalmentalist shepherding group since the early Eighties. She is still very much part of my life, if only in spirit. So I can certainly empathsize.
You are right to take care of yourself and your children for now. So my hat goes off to you.
You want to do internet searches for cults and spiritual abuse. I am not saying your husband is in a cult, but you can find support, wisdom and direction on where to go from here. Wellspring, Re-Focus, and AFF come to mind. Of course there is a truckload of experience, strength, and hope here.
Glad you are here. Feel free to share whatever is on your heart and mind. Virtual coffeepot is always brewing. Stuffed bears for the kids, if needed.
Welcome aboard. Bienvenidos

Becky,
I applaud your bravery and determination. WAY TO GO!!! I can only imagine how hard your decision was and you've got some tough roads ahead, but you are on your way OUT, and that is what is important. I'll be praying for you and your precious kids. How are they doing with all of this? If you don't mind saying, what are their ages?
