How do I upload a file to use as an avatar? I wandered around a bit in here, but haven't stumbled across the instructions for uploading. Anybody else know what to do?

*chuckle*

Actually, I posted a response to VR on one of the test forums about that... seems the custom avatar function isn't enabled yet. (She was looking for a rabbit, and settled on Hobbes.)

I have at least two different images in mind for if/when we can upload... :D ;)

Avatars... hmmm, ... wasn't there something about emailing the board or whoever and they'd approve and then make the avatar available for use? Unless I am remembering incorrectly....

No, don't know what to do. But how did you get your picture and "I belong to Abba" by your name? I would like to do something like that. One of the first options on the Edit Profile page is the way to change the words under your name; the custom avatar you submit to admin and presto! he does it for us. :)

ps... my new avatar is a picture of Sailor Saturn... :D

Princess,

Thanks for the encouragement regarding the injections. I'm not too concerned about the injections themselves, it's the potential side effects of the meds that make me nervous. I'm very glad to hear that your steroid injections have helped.

Regarding "I belong to Abba", there's a story that goes with it. I heard Brennan Manning speak a couple years ago. He told the story of being awakened at 2 in the morning by a knock on his hotel room door. He opened the door to find an elderly nun standing there. She begged him to listen to her to pray for her. He listened to her story.

As a child she had been repeatedly raped by her father. Her choice of vocation/her calling, had a lot to do with her desire to feel clean. Nothing had ever worked. Even in her eighties, she still suffered from the unresolved trauma of childhood sexual abuse. She sobbed and Brennan comforted and prayed for her.

Then he told her to pray this prayer, "Abba, I belong to You" as often as it came to mind. She thanked him and left.

About a month or two later, Brennan received a letter from the nun. She had prayed that prayer constantly. And it worked. She said it began to change her whole perspective and began a healing within her. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the principle that Brennan said was at work there.

So I started praying that prayer. It was the beginning of a new perspective toward God for me. It was the beginning of healing my view of God. It was not an instant, miraculous healing, but rather a gradual transformation. As I prayed the prayer, I focused on different inflections, giving different emphasis to different words, which can change the meaning. I still pray that prayer at times. And the real miracle is that He is giving me more and more confidence in His love for me.

In His Grace,

Michael
