Sharon--

Thanks so much for telling me about the compilation of Barbara's messages on NACR!! I've now read through many of them, and it sounded just like her...I will indeed want to copy them. Thank you and please tell ex-Shep that I appreciate his effort!!!!!

I'm getting back into routine--going to church, started back to work on the 10th, have written my weekly letter to my mother a couple of times, went to a couple of municipal band concerts. Have done laundry, and washed the dishes--and cried. I cooked last night for the first time--had been living on frozen left-overs and food people had brought me. Have had dinner with a couple of friends, and will have lunch with another friend on Wednesday. Wonderful support from friends--a real comfort. I'm working on the financial
stuff--Barbara's IRA, Social Security, etc.

Younger son James went back to San Diego a week ago to finish his obligation to the Marines (two more months, and he's OUT for GOOD!!). Older son David and I had lunch together yesterday, then worked on thank-you's (his suggestion--now, wasn't that thoughtful??!!). We got 19 done, and I had done 5 the day before, so we have a good start on the 100 I need to do (!!!!).

So--doing what I need to do, trying to stay on track. I have such wonderful memories--41 good years together. We're planning a Celebration of Life for Barbara on November 17, planting a tree at the same church where we earlier planted a tree in memory of her brother, and another one in honor of James' going into service four years ago.

If someone wants to read Barbara's obituary, they can go to www.aspenaftercare.com. I'll try to also get posted on that website the remarks I made at the memorial service. If you want to post this letter on the forum, you have my permission. Barbara had so MANY friends, it's hard to let everyone know about her.

Thanks again, Satscout. Hope all is well with you and yours. Did Andrew start school this week? How is that going? I'm so glad to have talked with you!! Thanks for calling!!

Actually, Aug 21 is the first day of school... we just had Fact and Fee Night... his new teacher seems really nice. Continued prayer on THAT score appreciated as well. :)
