Hi Guys! I've been keeping up with you but haven't posted much lately....continuing this healing thing.....but wanted to ask for prayers and let you know what is going on with our daughter Becca. She has had a tough week with what we thought initially was a severe migraine but got so bad Friday she was transported to er by rescue squad. At this point, two Drs. are battling each other over symantics but the upshot is she definitely has viral meningitis. Additional spinal fluid has been fed exd somewhere because all the white cells did not show up viral & they want to identify the other cells. Evidently, this is important. They are also looking for or at a possible lime disease connection. Blood work has been sent somewhere for a lime titer. One Dr says she'll be there until at least Wed. the other says no longer than Tuesday. Oh good grief....politics, personalities, symantics!!!! I just want my daughter better. Anyway, just asking for prayers for Bec. She is 12, has suffered with migraines forever, is allergic to a ton of stuff, and now this. Wish you could have seen her muscle through the spinal tap without numbing! She is so awsome.
In the midst of all this, our oldest moved in to college - Virginia Tech! If you have an extra one, please lift it up for her. She is doing well but as we all know this is a tough transition for everyone.
Gotta get back to hospital....Take care everyone & thanks for the ear!

Dear Peanut,,,,
I am sending up some prayers ,,,,,.......I am sure the Doctors are doing their best to solve the puzzle in your daughters case ...... On a further note lets make this a wake-up call to all on the board with children school age through college.......There are two kinds of "Meningitis",,,,,,,,,"Viral" that is serious but responds well to treatment,,,,,,and "Bacterial" which is almost always fatal !!!!! or at the very least requires the amputation of limbs !!! The upshot of "Bacterial" meningitis is that it is preventable with a vaccine ;) Thank you "Father" :D All of you print this out and pin it to your shirt next time you take the kids to the Doctor ;) This is one of the most overlooked vaccinations available

Yes Jerry! Suz received her meningecoccal (OK I could look back how to spell it but give me a break - heheheh - its not dawn yet & I'm headed back to hospital-) vaccine that is for the bacterial meningitis on Tuesday. Funny how things happen ( thank you LORD!) Anyway, Tuesday, I pulled out me medical reference book (I'm showing my age) to find out just a bit more about this vaccine & after reading, said to Jerry, my husband, " Except for the fever, Bec appears to be classic viral meningitis" The fever began Wednesday at 3 pm. So when we got to the er, I really could be her advocate & knew in my gut this was not a "simple" migraine. It took an act of congress & a wonderful FEMALE Dr to finally really hear me. The first er Dr was going to send us home at noon with tylenol. Guess I really pissed him off when I told him I was done with him & requested a "real Doctor"!
Thanks all for prayers----her fever broke yesterday---some of the additional test results will be back late today & we are still on a Wed. discharge schedule.
Thank you Lord for helping us safely through this.
Love, Peanut
