Upon going over some emails on a mailing list I am on I ran across from this.

I thought this may help others here to get to know a bit more about me.

Let me tell you about a personal story that I have not told anyone here yet.
When I used to ride motorcycles I had a very bad accident in a place called Blossberg PA in 1978.

My mother kept the newspaper article.........

Blossburgh Area Motorcycle Accident Injures Two Men

BLOSSBURGH -- Two men were hospitalized after a motorcycle accident at 12:30 am today on Route 58506 in Hamilton Twp. near Blossburgh.

Regwinn Thomas Borrow, of Toronto, Canada, the operator of the motorcycle, was transferred from Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, to Williamsport Hospital suffering head and possible internal injuries. Officials said he was in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

His passenger, Stanley Laudenslager, of Blossburgh, was admitted to Wellsboro hospital with a fractured collarbone and was reported in stable condition.

State police at Mansfield said both men were thrown from the motorcycle when Borrow lost control. Damage was moderate, police said.

------------

Now here's the rest of the story as best as I can recall. I was in a comma for over three days. When I awoke, there was my mother sitting beside me at my bed. Up until that time, I knew nothing of what occurred. It was like the article stated, "Is man without conscious existence in death?" it just seemed like an instant later.

I took a trip with a couple to tour the Blue Ridge Parkway. They left before me on the return journey. They had to get back early and I wanted to stay a little longer.

The accident happened on the return journey. I met this guy when I stopped for a couple of beer and a meal. I told him I was going to eat and what would he recommend that was good. He said his uncle had a great little restaurant about 15 minutes away. He really liked motorcycles and I think he wanted a ride on it to show me where it was. Anyway, I said OK and we proceeded to go there. It was farther than I really wanted to go as I later found out. He said I could stay at his place and I thought that would be good and save me a little money.

It was getting really late and I was anxious to get to his place because I was starting to get tired. We ate and left. On the way to his house was when the accident happened.

I was in bad shape when my mother brought me home yet I was determined to go back and get my motorcycle. It was being stored at the local firehouse I found out.

After about 3 weeks I think, the couple I went on the original trip with returned with me to get my bike. He had a pick up truck we could transport it with. When we arrived at the firehouse and I inquired about my motorcycle, the guy and his wife came who worked there as a team that pulled me out of the ditch and transported me to the hospital. They looked at me with an astonished look as if they saw a ghost. She said, "I thought you were dead". It was then that I found out how badly I had been injured. I'm not sure how long it took to transport me to the first hospital, but apparently, I was not breathing. I had to be revived at the hopital. They said that because I was submerged in cold water, my body temperature was around 93. That may be a reason why I survived. My metabolism was slowed down.

The point is, for all intents and purposes I was dead for a period of time. That is what the emergency couple told me. Both of my friends where there to witness that. The lady now divorced since, is a member of our church. She knows and can attest to that. I have the pictures of them and the Paramedic who pulled me out of the ditch plus Stanley. Stanley said, when the accident happened, I was lodged in a culvert with my head submerged under the water. He tried to keep my head above the water but was loosing the battle because of his dislocated shoulder and because the water was very cold.

Just when he couldn't keep my head above water any longer, a couple just happened to come along in their car. Now this was a remote back road that usually at that time of night no one is driving on.

And this is when the story gets really interesting. The wife just happened to be a nurse from the local hospital. Go figure? Apparantly they called the local Emergency Dept to have me transported. Now this is all of what was told to me. I have absolutely no awareness of anything until three days later.

Let me add one other interesting thing to the story. That couple that just happened to come by unusually at that late of an hour, to this date, I do not know who they are. Apparently they assisted and left when the emergency vehicle arrived. No one knows who they are. I have my theory, but can't say for sure.

The point of all this, I had to be revived. Was I really dead? Technically, I guess I was, Not breathing for ??? It must have been 15 minutes at least because the small local hospital was at least that far away. Now this is all I can recall of what those who were there told me. I know nothing about it. It was truly as if I was asleep and woke up after three days.

I've wondered since about consciousness after death.

Wow Reg.... that's quite an accident you had there. I have heard it said that if you ride a motorcycle long enough you will wreck. I've had one wreck and a couple of close scrapes... and a topple. I call topples those goofy times when you aren't moving, but you drop the bike unloading it or something.

I'm so glad you came out of it alive!!!!

I wonder if that's how Lazarus felt?

This is pure Anna Marta so take it as you will. When God isn't finished - He isn't finished! Regardless of what we do or who or what tries to "get us". It is pretty obvious to me Reg that you have important work to do (if this forum is an example of your life), and God who knows the end from the beginning, is making sure you have the opportunity to do it!

I have great respect for you.
