I have been reading the books on spiritual abuse and healthy church discipline (correction) by Ken Blue et al published by Intervarsity. I have spent a week in deep study. As a result of the reading, I have made appointments with both the Mens Pastor at the church I attend and Tammy's church. I feel I need the pastoral guidance and accoutability. I felt the church I attend need to be more in the loop. Tammy's church appears to be interested in seeing a healthy resolution of the schism. They were briefly apprised of what brings down my wife and I on semi-regular basis. The parent church has spoken out against discipling groups, stopping short of mentioning our former group by name.

I have also contacted the church back in Texas. The pastors were very much in the loop as the move towards reconciliation unfolded. The senior pastor started out in the virulent shepherding years. He is very much concerned for the recovery of current and former members.

I still covet the suport and prayers going forward. I am sensitive to my own character defects wreaking havoc. This was the reason for the accountability. I am a big believer of the proverb "in the multitude of counselors, there is safety".

There has been a warm, albeit tenuous, rapport with Tammy. She does appreciate the prayers for her studies at Midwest State. She seems to be heartened with the rapport I have with her church. I am grateful for the progress made.
