Dont need radiation

well, its been a harrowing experience this cancer thing. But the Lord saw fit to catch it before it spread.

I was informed to quick smoking immediately PRAYERS PLEASE and get excercise, drink water and eat right. He did say there is a chance of reoccurance, that doesnt sit well, but if i change my lifestyle, it will help with that.

I must admit that smoking is going to be a big problem. But id rather charge on thru and quit than get that nasty cancer back. Im a lil bummed too as I was a singer and will never sing again! I try to, but ive a heavy lisp and its simply not possible.

I figure everytime I get an urge, ill pray. God is the only one with any power, we are powerless and need to rely upon Him.

Thank you all for continued encouragement and prayers. It looks like I beat this thing. PTL

Deferring to others about the smoking issue: I know nothing about it. Don't know how hard it is to quit. But I know that our Lord Jesus Christ would be the first one to step up and help you with it. Look what He's already done for you! (Salvation first, then that wee cancer "thing.." I wouldn't call cancer "wee" unless I'd already had modified radical surgery for it myself... and gotten through it.)

I remember when I quit smoking. I’ve heard some people say that they prayed and were easily able to quit smoking with no problem, that wasn’t the case with me. It was really hard. I remember I slept a lot the first week and just took it day by day, hour by hour and minute by minute. It does get easier. I’ll be praying for you.

My aunt had COPD and it was hard to see her so sick. Two trips to ICU with a machine breathing for her did not make her stop.:( :( :(

She tried but just couldn"t stop.

I look back and see in the 50s smoking was the cool thing to do.:mad: :mad: :mad:

If only people knew then the damage it causes.

My aunt went to ICU a 3rd time and didn"t make it.

I cringe when I see teens smoking.

That aunt gave my cousin and I a cig. when we were in our teens. :eek: :eek: we are so glad neither one of us took up the habit.

Your going to make it Abby I have seen the Lord working in your life since you have come here.:D :D

I will pray for you. I know smoking is hard to stop. I don"t smoke but I have had family who did smoke and it was very hard for them. shirley

Thx everyone! Theres a new drug that has been quite successful in helping ppl quit. Im going to ask my doctor.

Ive really no choice? Its utterly stooopid to smoke, but it is a battle. Plus, i dont work, ive alot of spare time and it sorta is harder because Ive so much time on my hands.

I realllllly want to quit. I have other symptoms. SHortness of breath, wheezing...so, in general I want to quit, but I cant seem to get thru these TREMENDOUS urges! Thats where God has to help....He can do it! I have faith. Im already annoyed tho...the very thought of letting go of a life long addiction annoys me. Becasue I already know what you go thru, as I quit for one month.

I have a couple of friends that went on Chantrix and found it a successful way to stop smoking. It's expensive... but very effective from what they report.

Everytime you get pressured to smoke, post here. Ill be here for you if you decide to do it, night and day Abbey just say the word!
