This morning i was woken up by a fire alarm at around 8 am. I was able to use my back fire escape to get out. I thought it was simply a small fire, and it was, contained to one room. However, a brand new tenant, was brought out by firemen and unfortuantely, she died od smoke inhalation. Im at my sons until we are able to go back.
I prayed for her after seeing her rescued,(assuming all tenants were out) but by that time it was too late.
We had the local press around like vultures. I was asked to appear on camera and declined...Im in shock is all I can say! Enjoy your exwitchoz free day? I just dont understand him???

Thank you Dan! Its a little unsettiling! :( I really had to walk away after they pulled her out. Local news said it was smoking related! But i cant imagine anyone being in such a deep sleep. Tenants heard her up and moving at 6:30 am.
I saw the backdraft of them pounding her door open. It was scary. When she came out she looked really bad, but i hoped and prayed...
She was excited to move in. It is an old victorian rooming house with spacious rooms, yet affordable. A very nice, clean, neighborhood and...i just dont know...

Sorry to hear about the fire. I am glad you are ok.
Sorry that the lady had to die. Did the fire start in her room? If so maybe that is why she got more smoke and couldn"t get out.
I like you Abby:) :) and it is sad to hear all the things that you have to go thru.
Hope things will get better for you.

Aw, youre a sweetie for saying you like me butterfly! I like you too! :D And your wishes that things smooth out in my life, i appreciate! They will--in Gods time!
Yes, the fire was contained in her room. Fire investigators are skilled in the area of how fires start. Fairly quickly, they saw quite clear it was a ciggarette.
I sooooo, wish that she could have been awakened somehow, but it was not meant to be. She has an 18 year-old daughter and was so excited to be moving. Yet, four days later she passed away. Just a breif prayer for her daughter and family would be appreciated. She was so young, only in her early 30's.
We cant go home until clean-up and power is restored etc. Some ladies had no family to take them in and are sleeping tonight at the salvation army. The rooming house is for folks either too poor, or trying to find a stepping stone to save money. I like it there and enjoy the company of the other ladies! THANK JESUS, that we have 3 fire escapes, and 6 working fire alarms as well as lit exits.
Thank you for listening, it helps to get it off my chest as it was traumatic seeing the woman not breathing and in bad shape.
enjoy your evening butterfly. God bless. :)

Thanks dear Voyager! I feel kinda odd, still shocked! When they kicked her door in, a violent backdraft, just exploded. Unfortuantely she was still in that room.
Thx for your kind words and being an ear! It helps. You guys are my new friends. :)

Strangely enough, I think the breaking of the door was the only chance of saving her. I assume the firemen were in full gear?? Thats what the policeman told me. The policeman panicked and was going to kick the door in, jesus was with him because he changed his mind. In the backdraft the flames shot so violently out that the police guy leapt off the porch like a cat. I could tell he was extremely scared. He even said if i was in my room at the moment of backdraft, id be gone myself? Cant figure that out since i was two floors up.
She had a daughter just entering college, 18...oh, how awful to lose your mother. :( :( :(

youre of tender heart Shirley. Im OK! But any prayers are indeed welcome! Thank you kindly. All of us ladies, even tho we have are differences, hugged each other and the yelling of the other tenants woke me up. Praise God 10 of the 11 people got out unscathed! I urge everyone to check your smoke detectors. Heck, my lameo husband didnt even have one installed! I had to force him to buy one today.
I was in a fire at 19 or so, and they move SOOOOOOOOO quickly. They are very erratic. You dont understand until you see the swiftness of the move.
Thnks for letting me share, yet more personal events. I appreciate everyone here, you are Gods gift to me. REALLY!!!:D
