I was talking to my "friend" from my old church the other day. She told me that an older woman in the church asked her where I have been. She told her that I left to go to a bigger church so I could meet a man. :confused: Then she told me that this is what she is telling anyone who asks her why I left. I just want to find me a husband.

I guess there is some truth to her statement. Only the husband I am seeking at my new church that I was not able to find in my old church is JESUS CHRIST. Now THAT is the real reason I left. I needed to go somewhere that I could find JESUS...

I guess I have officially lost the last "friend" I thought I had at that place. Good riddance!

I have found it close to impossible to stay in fellowship with past or current members of my former abusive church. They were all trained the same way - to cut off people who don't agree with their doctrine. When people leave the church, it doesn't mean that this philosophy will change. I only have one or two people from my former church that I can trust.

Several years ago I talked with Ken Blue on the phone for over an hour. He is the author of "How to Break Free from Bad Church Experiences". He told me to stay away from people from my former abusive church for my own good. He was right. I got hurt real bad after having several of those who escaped sever ties with me due to their whacked-out religious beliefs.
