Will be working this holiday. Wife is in Ohio with family. Feeling lonely. If anyone else is having a hard time and needs to check in, chime in.

Mostly just wasted because I have slept about seven noncontiguous hours in the last three days. I have worked 32 hours of the last three days, too.
Maybe I can get some sleep... if Andrew will let me...

I dread to ask what you do for a living. I work for airline. Chicago had a snowstorm the day before, so we are still holding calls.
Hey! Got the flu; not feeling so hot. But my options were to go to my mother-in-laws, or stay home and try to numb myself enough to forget that my sister is dead. Neither one worked, thanks to the Mack truck that has run over my entire body. By the way, have I told you lately that I think you guys are just great ;)

Medical transcription; I have been telecommuting since the birth of my son Andrew in March 2004. Before December 1994, when I started at the hospital I work for now, I was in medical school. Problem is, my health was falling apart, and my swiss-cheesed memory was starting to show. It's one thing to "not remember" damaging things about one's own past. It is quite another to become unable to retain sufficient information in short term and intermediate term memory to satisfy a demanding attending. (One of the more unpleasant confrontations involved one who wanted me to recite a gathered patient history from memory, without the aid of the chart, in spite of the fact that my other student colleagues were allowed the use of the chart when THEY presented their patients. *sigh*)
BTW, I hit 42 hours a little while ago. And there is still Saturday to go. We got approved for overtime because one of our transcriptionists left for another facility (her last day was LAST Friday), another had planned in advance to have this week off in preparation for surgery next week, and that leaves two. My other colleague was off Wednesday - I found this out Wednesday morning at 9 when I'm not supposed to start until 1, and was told without warning or recourse that I was expected to get on the system and do stats. Then this morning, I was called three times - during when I normally sleep - to do stats; that is when I discovered I was on my own today to cover stats and radiology transcription. That's why it took until 2 am to finish; I was doing reports from Wednesday night forward.
Gotta get better, right??? *grin*

Well haven't seen all of my family. And I don't feel good around one person. Alot of criticism comes my way. I just am pretty much not looking forward to christmas.
