Tonight I was reading thru my first posts to this forum and was amazed at what I saw. I was a scared, lonely and confused lady reaching out to total strangers and they reached back willingly and lovingly. I saw how the kind and carefully chosen words were convincing me of and leading me out of a very dangerous cult. My family didnt understand, and I didnt understand ,but you all did!
The first few days away from the cult were the hardest. Almost a feeling of being in the twilight zone, yet members here walked me thru this difficult time with cyber coffee and open ears. Reassuring me that "all will be well." Not only were you patiently listening to my confusion, but you were all so careful and wise in your responses. Treating me like a wounded bird whose wings needed a mend and feeding me milk from an eye dropper. Much like I would imagine Christ himself treating the wounded.
As I continued to re-read everything, I realized that I have come so far. (not that I dont realize how long this road is) You folks rescued me from a burning building; one setting the ladder, another climbing, other members stretching out the rescue blanket, etc. And all collectively shouting "JUMP, Youre safe, We got ya!"
If it wasnt for you guys, and of course Gods concern, I still be in that weirdo, freakshow, crazy MPD cult. So as corny as it is, I just wanted to shout a BIG THANKS to all you wonderful people! You were there, as I typed nervously in a San Diego Library, 3000 miles from home, reaching out and you reached back!
Peace Abbey
