I hereby would like to encourage everyone to boycott any antagonizing posts on the forum.
Who needs this kind of hostility? None of us do. It does not promote emotional recovery at all - it impedes it. It always takes two to tango. If we choose not to engage in conflict, it cannot happen. Just think about it... we actually do have the ability to control it. It doesn't have to happen, and we have the power as a group to disallow it. All it takes is a little control. When you feel tempted to return fire... just put your pistol away. Then the hostile threads will fall to the bottom and they will be gone. Once the perpetrator realizes he cannot get you to react and chase his dangling carrot, he will either give up and leave, or try to become a functional member of the forum.
We have the power to do this. No one has control over us anymore.

Good thread. That is what I have done all along.
Red flags go up when someone comes here and begins to stir things up without first introducing
themselves. It is only common courtesy when you go to someone’s house, you first introduce
yourself before they let you in.
It’s the same here. For the most part, we are anonymous here. It takes a little while for each of us
to get to know each other. For a stranger to come here and start right in with a manipulative post
should be a clue that they are not here to heal and recover. I become very suspicious of people
like this.
If they are really here for the right reason, it will become evident after a few posts. If not, it will
also become evident. It isn’t that difficult to spot a counterfeit once you know the genuine article.
We have had imposters come here before.
So, when someone comes here without a brief introduction allowing us to get to know the person
a little first, be cautious. Anyone with a little common sense, especially if they have been SA’d
should know that one of our biggest issues is trusting. How can we really take what they
post seriously until we get to know them a bit first. To start right in with a manipulative post
should be a red flag for all of us.
Who is this person? If they want to be accepted and really find support, common courtesy would
be to tell us a bit about who they are and what they went through.

Yes, I think I saw this happen recently. A new member posted some long-winded scolding sermon in response to someone's pain, and told them that they shouldn't complain because we are all here on earth to suffer. Lot's of scripture quotes. I think he was ignored away, but I'm not sure. About a month ago. So it can happen.
And I think that if the offending contributor was not really that bad, and was open and willing to learn from the forum, they would probably just adjust themselves to the ethic and try to post something that gets responded to.

Whoa!!!!
I've obviously missed a LOT while I was away licking my own wounds...
God has His own timing and purpose... it is certainly not mine... but I am learning to appreciate His more and more...
As fragile as I was I would not have handled a lot of what has apparently happened here at the Forums... and so - in His mercy - God had me licking my wounds in private as I said...
It's strange how we do not see the Lord's hand until after the storm has passed... when after all He is the one who controls the wind and the waves...
Just an observation on my own circumstances...
PLEASE... don't anyone take it as anything more than that...

I wish I would have remembered my own advice. Sometimes when we get triggered by something, we seem to lose all sense of wisdom and balance. It's as if we feel the need to get back the control that we lost. But as we try to do this, we lose more control over the situation.
Thank you Anna for reminding me of that post.

Hi,
In reviewing past posts from the forum, I came upon this one and wanted to post it bc I thought it was so good.
I was just musing over the same thing yesterday. I find it helps to not respond immediately to any post. I try to remember to stop and pray before responding. Since we are all writing, rather than face to face, we can pause the conversation if we need to. And we can decide not to respond if we fear we might not be nice or that we might not express our point correctly. ;)

I for one have ALWAYS bemoaned the fact there is not a "RETRACT" key next the "ENTER/SUBMIT" one...

Hello all,
Caught! Yes, my screen name is my pussy cat's name! But we don't look alike! Here's a hint, my given name is the same at Jacob's first wife...
Below our house is a fjord and they look just like lakes... only with rocks cause they were carved out by glaciers (a few years ago)
The crabs pics were taken on a tiny island off shore "Borøye" (there are hundreds of islands) can only get there by boat.

You sound like you would fit right in just provide you with a helmet and sword and we could make money taking your picture for the tourists! :D ROFLOL! :D
Snow we get plenty of and ice till you want to scream at it to go away. We live on the side of this small mountain and the intersection at the bottom of the hill is called "the valley of the shadow of death" cause it never gets sun and stays frozen till after Easter - kind of hope the car stops before you glide across into the ravine.
We have had full fall storms the past 24 hours and it has been a wild Norway outside. The ferries between Denmark and Norway have been stuck out in the ocean unable to dock on either side.
Have a great day everyone!
