Former members of Tammy's group, including former pastors, have asked to share my history with the church in detail. I can do a 30 second commercial, but this is the first time I have been asked for details. I am happy to respond and will this weekend when I have some time. I do feel like I have been assigned a major paper to complete the semester. Prayers for wisdom and that I can get my thought organized on paper.

Would it be out of line to inquire as to who this Tammy's group is? I feel a bit out of the loop.

This sounds like a real breakthrough, for lack of a better word. Someone, even pastors, actually wants to listen to details of spiritual abuse. I am agog.

Tammy is a psuedonym for a close friend I lost to a fundalmentalist shepherding group in college. Ironically I am in a church today which has gone to great lengths to distance themselves from the original shepherding milieu.

It was in 1984, as I was trying to get Tammy out, I realized what I was in. I walked out of the Shepheding Discipleship movement and a pentecostal bible school Anyone wanting to know the exact group can shoot me a PM. Happy to answer specifics off forum

Prayers for you to have a clear head and to have love for those still caught in abuse and even love for your abusers, and prayers for your wisdom to choose the important details out of everthing that happened, and prayers for open-mindedness in those who read your testimony, and prayers that God will be glorified and the suffering will be comforted and the bretheren will learn greater love for one another.
