I think my blood sugar just shot up at the glance of the post. I am powerless over Buskins Bakery, Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, the bakery case at Starbucks, and baked goods in particular.

We love our food too! We're into curry. Thai or Indian are faves...
My husband has developed a serious comfort food policy: the 5 C's.
I always know what to buy him.
1. Chocolate (Lindt is best, 85% cocoa),
2. Coffee (loves a good brew, makes a mean cappacino),
3. Cabernet Sauvignon (his fave red wine),
4. Cheese (he goes for the blue smelly stuff),
5. Curry (Vindaloo, Panang, Red or Green, Madras, Rendang all make the eyes roll back with pleasure).
I don't go for all of that...just the curry. We could eat curry every night.
We also like anti pasto and fresh crusty bread.
We love making homemade pumpkin soup.
If we go out I love ordering the fish.
The good thing about virtual eating like this is that you don't put on any weight. :)
May your tastebuds have a happy day...
May the endorphins frolic with delight...

Hey Anna... is the tapioca the kind with the BIG pearls in it? I can't even find those and it's my fav. kind. My grandma used to make it for me when I was a kid.

Looks like a created a monster ... LOL!!!
Well... my list of comfort foods...
Well being an Ozzie and coming into Summer here... an ice cold beer after a stinking hot day is a good way to start :) ...before making a pita bread roll-up stuffed to the gun whales with slices of pork or chicken, taboulli, humous, onion, maybe a little cottage cheese if I'm feeling healthy...
LOVE Asian food of all varieties... esp Thai... the hotter the better... tho' don't mind wallowing in sushi either LOL
But when it comes to sitting at the puter til my eyes are bleeding... well Dorito's, Pringles and Coffee...
Lots and lots of coffee... and none of that de-Caf muck :p ... REAL coffee... real STRONG BLACK coffee... Just can't see the point of drinking 'Unleaded' when 'Hi-Octane' is there on the shelf... :)
But I wouldn't be a fair dinkum Ozzie if I didn't get GREAT comfort from Vegemite on toast in the morning :D and Tim-Tam's (wickedly over-indulgent chocolate covered biscuits that you bite the ends off... dunk in your coffee.... and just suck the coffee up thru like a big chocolate straw) :cool:

Yeah, right now I can't get these California Rolls (sushi) out of my head. I guess they aren't really REAL sushi, but they are good. They're at this special little place by a grocery store here, and every chance I get I nab them. mmmm I have to have a little bit of that green stuff to go with them and pickled ginger. GADs... now I want some.

Love sushi!!! So do my kids.
We're good role models cos my kids have comfort food too...chicken pie! My hubby makes it from scratch.
They also love buttered bread and honey. Sometimes I join them.
It's the simple things!
I also love laksa and risotto.
Anyone tried Laotian food? It's divine. Better than Thai.
Who started this thread again???
This is great...
Virtual eating.

Potatoes are at the top of my list
White potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams...whatever
Mashed, baked, boiled, fried...yep yep yep
Potato soup - almost ANY recipe, and pea or bean soup too.
From there I run through the starches - rice, noodles, corn, cereals
I like grits, on the dry side, with lots of butter and salt, rice pudding, or bread pudding with raisins.
I love hot drinks - beginning with coffee & flavored creamers - this season pumpkin spice and gingerbread flavor creamers are awesome.
As much as I LOVE chocolate, it's not currently striking me as a comfort food - must be associated with some other mood.
fun stuff!

Man, you are all making me hungry.
Seems like the saying 'any port in a storm' would apply as everyone has their favorites. For me, about anything chocolate.

Mines popcorn always a ton of it. Nowdays i can eat it too because its like almost 2 points with ww. But....its the fat free tasteless dry stuff. My favorite way to do it is to pop it myself with canola oil, no butter at all and salt. Then my newest drink with it is Jazz Pepsi Cherry Vanilla. Um yummy! That with a good book or an old movie awesome will make me feel like a million!
I just bought some mint chocolate creamer a huge one to go into my coffee. At the lake i have cinnamon swirl coffee with cinnamon creamer and also chocolate coffee...........heaven.
I love rice pudding! Hot from the oven
and of course mashed potatoes with roast almost burned and loads of dark rich brown gravy.
Ah I love coke salad for Thanksgiving have you guys ever heard of it? You put a frozen coke in the black cherry jello mix it with pecans and cream cheese and crushed pineaple and cherries.
My favorite desert on Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie made the old fashioned way with whipped cream on top.
Not this year for any of it though not me not this time dont really even want to go there honestly.
I have to cook my things but its going to be bad I can tell you sorry I know Im not supposed to be 'negative' but hey reality sucks! Be ready for it thats my motto. I know its going to be bad so Id better prepare to not add to my misery by eating. Lots of walks with my doggy at this new park Ive found. Crochet. WW yogurts which really do suit me just fine I can get any flavor there is so its all good only one point each.
My biggest temptation will be the margaritas.
Staying away from that one.
Think Ill go see that movie Marie Antonette today.

Nestle's OR Hershey's bottles of chocolate milk after being in the freezer for about half an hour;
I too LOVE Pringles, especially with some kind of dip (preferably green onion but I'll even settle for a tub of sour cream);

Grape soda on crushed ice, and buttered popcorn while watching one of my favorite DVD's;
Homemade chickpea soup sprinkled with parmesan cheese
