I wanted to partner with Anna's thread on forgiveness...I wrote this for my father (the pastor) and my dad (my mother's husband who raised me) just before their phone call (see my thread: A Cautionary Tale)
When thorny deeds of others
prick your heart and make you bleed
When satan tempts your tongue to speak
retaliation to meet your need
I call you to rememberance
of the Blood once shed for you
And ask, "Do unto to others
as I have done for you"
It's only when the heart is pierced
and the blood begins to flow
The sweet fragrance of My forgiveness
can be released to help you grow
You see, dear child, the only way
this world will learn and see
Is when they look upon your face
behold reflections of love from Me
The time is short--no lingering
my blessing waits for you
Your silence stalls the victory
that I would bring to you
Reach out to them - run quickly now
before the setting of "The Son"
Remind them of the sacrifice
and show them how it's done
Take up your cross and follow
Via Dolorosa is the way
The Rose of Sharon gave His life
lead others... and forgive... today:)
