Hey forumers. :) Hubby and I will be trying a large local baptist church in the morning. We grew up in that denomination and since our past 10 years of painful church experience has been with non denominational charismatic and denominational charismatic churches, we feel more comfortable with the idea of a southern baptist church than we do with the other at this point. I hope that doesn't sound narrow minded, but we like the structure and accountability provided for there. The one in our city has a contemporary service that is supposed to be really good. The pastor has been there for the last 10-15 years and his reputation in the community is that he is really a man of God.
I like the idea of it being a large church because I can just blend in.
Anyway, please continue to pray that hubby and I will have peace about this church if it is where we need to be and that we will know if we need to go elsewhere.

best of luck in your search. Rest assured the right church will come at the right time- even though it may not feel like it right now. Let us know how it turned out.

Well, we just returned from the morning service. I enjoyed it. The worship was good and so was the message. It was nice to not hear the charismatic buzzwords that have irritated me so much as of late.
We will continue our search next week and try a church in our small town we live in. The one we tried today was in a larger city 20 miles from our town here.
Just wanted to give an update before I go take a nap. ;) Bless you all.

Sounds like a winner. I drive 30 miles to church; so I can relate there.

Sounds familiar. It's working for us so far. Hope it works out for you as well. :)
