I know this is a forum for primarily spiritual abuse topics, but if you can bear with me, I'll get to the spiritual abuse part. It's Sunday at 1925, and I'm sitting in my office catching up on patient charts - I do urology for a living, which is actually somewhat humerous at the age of 36. Anyway, just got an email from my twin brother who is headed out on a mission around Bagdhad tonight. Please pray if you think about it. One more sibling lost is about all I could take. Went to church today, kind of zoned out the message - something about get your unchurched friends to church because that's your responsibility as a member. I got an email from my parents this week - they wanted to let me know that one of their old friends had passed away - but''they were sure he was with God, because even though he never went to church with his wife, he always took her there, and had confessed this sin of neglecting the gathering together of saints. Arghhhhhhh. So, tonight in my own selfish way, I'm reaching out to you guys for a gentle hug that will let me know that things will work out. As my boss would say to me ''quit being sorry for yourself.'' But tonight, the lonliness is a little more than usual, and the impulse to self injure is great. Oh - and please pray that my husband will want to be my friend, and not just my roomate. I could use a big hug from him right now. Thanks guys:(

I'm sorry it's so hard. Do you have any other support (besides us) that you could lean on? I ask because when we're in the middle of hard times, it's often difficult to see those around us we could go to... I remember when my best friend and mentor was dying in the hospital. I sat on the floor and wrote the names of every one of my friends down in a book - so I could remind myself I wasn't totally alone (though I felt like it). Over time, looking at that list helped.

I think it's perfectly fine to vent here. Have you asked your hubby for a hug? Or, is he just not the affectionate type. I'm sorry...

Hey Jerry - I'm choking on my coffee; thanks for the laugh. Joking aside, I just got an email from my brother who got back from his mission safely (Praise God!!). Thank you all for your prayer support. I really felt it last night. My husband is a really great guy, but struggles with alcohol and anger management issues. Unfortunately, my needs and his needs don't always coincide. Hannah - I'm working on the list. Voyager - I've been meaning to tell you that you've been on my mind lately with prayers for you.
