I am home for a minute to pick up some things and just wanted to update you on my daughter. Please excuse my not checking in on other threads tonight.....it has been a long day.
Surgery ( tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy) went well & needed to be done based on the size of the glands. The Dr did do a minor facial scar revision while she was under and found shards of glass & dirt left from the automobile accident. Really glad we did that. She encountered some problems following surgery and is staying tonight for observation and treatment. She seems ok now but please, please remember Suz in your prayers tonight.
Fluid collected in her lungs and they are using a medication to reduce the fluid and oxygen to assist her blood oxygen levels. Without oxygen, her levels are just under 80%. The surgeon tried to use morphene (SP?) for the pain thinking it would be better but she had a pretty severe allergic reaction & we lost quite a bit of time pain wise so they have been trying to figure out a way to keep the pain under control. One upshot is that we now know of the allergy & it should not pose a problem in the future.
When I left, they had given her another big injection of benadryl & that was making her sleepy. Hubby ( her father) is with her now & I am returning to spend the night.
Again, thanks for being here guys.....your are my church family.
Love you one and all,
Mimi
