Pretentions

Social pretentions. Biggest problems in christianity today.

ahem:

1. Acting as if everything is perfect because one is a christian.

2. Knowing everything.

3. Knowing more then anyone else.

4. Not getting help/reaching out/seeking companionship.

5. Adding onto the words given by the holy spirit in personal afterthought as if they were still the words given by the holy spirit.

6. Using every second of mouth-opening to preach.

7. Obsession of the bible.

8. Obsession of end times.

9. Living in fear rather than living.

10. Fearing Satan rather than Fearing God.

11. Fearing God rather than Loving God.

12. Hiding from the wolves, "Wise as serpants, harmless as doves" - we are to be, said the Man.

13. Rushing rigidly into religion.

14. Replacing faithfulness with religious living/thinking.

15. Mock tongues. (Mock anything for that matter).

16. Ignoring the blind.

17. Condemning.

18. Judging.

19. Control.

20. "Advice".

Y'all oughta attend the Catholic church for a while, just for the contrast. As long as you show up for mass, anything goes. I used to joke that I became Catholic just so I could drink beer without having to rationalize. :D

To their credit, Catholics allow you to say you're a mess when you are a mess. But when they say they'll pray for you it will probably be an "intention" followed by 5 decades of the rosary. :rolleyes:

Going to the priest in confession is a great place to let it all hang out. Just be sure to set up an appointment. It don't work to talk to the priest for 2 hours when the confession time is 30 minutes and there are 7 people behind you in line. :o
