Hi Mags!
You have made me think....been doing that a lot today....
I think I need to work on loving myself more so I can love my neighbor better.
I am also thinking about forgivness..........a lot. I am thinking there are some people - the abusers--the sorority---the crotchety old men...the hateful ladies...the other pastors.... that I need to work on forgiving. Not for them but for me.
Is there a 12 step plan for forgivness? Anyone?
Love you
Peanut

Yep! Had to work on that one myself, peanut. Otherwise they win! And I can't have that!;) :D Do you think the Sorority or the crotchities have given us two thoughts, except of course to slander? Let's not give them the satisfaction, hmmm?

Have you read Traveling Mercies and Plan B by Anne Lamott? So refreshing! She says that not forgiving is like taking poison yourself, but waiting for the other person to die....very true. Forgiveness is the key, isn't it? It is the most freeing thing we do, but it can be so hard some days. Fortunately, there's grace for that too.
You know, Jesus mentioned a 7x70 step program on forgiveness;) ; but then again he was quite the pro! We are all just schmucks on the road...but every day we get a bit closer!

That quote is going in the quote book!!:p
I like your "70x7 step plan"! That's a good one!;) :D

I think I need to work on loving myself more so I can love my neighbor better.
That's a hard thing for me to do too. I've gotten much better at it but there are still times (one just happened the other day) when I get that overwhelming urge to hurt myself because I felt I did something stupid and was a "bad girl!".
I am also thinking about forgivness..........a lot. I am thinking there are some people - the abusers--the sorority---the crotchety old men...the hateful ladies...the other pastors.... that I need to work on forgiving. Not for them but for me.
Another hard one. I have found though, there is much freedom in forgiveness. Two of the hardest people for me to forgive was #1 myself, and #2 the guy who raped me when I was 11.
I first had to get to the place where I realized it wasn't my fault. For years and years I blamed myself for what happened. (shame, shame & more shame).
Then I had to forgive him for doing such a horrible thing to me, for taking advantage of me and taking away my innocence.
I forgive quite easily today. I guess it's because, like I said above, there is MUCH FREEDOM in forgiveness. For myself! Like a big weight has been liften that I had been carrying around.
I've come to the realization that in the end, we will ALL be judged for what we've done here on earth. I am only responsible for what I do. That's what I will be judged on. Everyone else is "on their own." :)

Well, I loved myself today by getting up (to rain and a thurnderstorm:rolleyes: ), called the hospital where I was supposed to have some testing done :( and rescheduled for next Friday...today, I'm just not in the mood! :p I went back to bed and slept until 11:30 this morning! :)
I feel so much better, refreshed, and just all around pretty great! Got some decaf brewing, going to make a poached egg over spinach w/ a bit of hot salsa (YES! IT'S GOOD! :p ) and do some laundry, listen to jazz and make a bracelet for my mom! :)
Having me a "ME-DAY"! :D

Well... there are 11 letters in the word "forgiveness". Maybe we can come up with an acronym... unless someone has already done that. I'll google it and see.

I couldn't find an acronym that wasn't triggering... but found this book called "The Twelve Steps of Forgiveness". Maybe it's a good one. I really don't know for sure.
