Does anyone else receive 'signs' or strange 'coincidences'? As though the objects around, the message on the tv, finding the right book at the right time, and so on, were MEANT for you??? As though God were telling you something without showing up in a form and voicing it out in the open??

I wonder if perhaps there are spirits around me wanting to show me things.

For instance, one time I was in the shower and I had this crappy shampoo/conditioner. It fell off its ledge. So I picked it up and put it back. It fell again. I laughed and decided, alright, somethings up with the shampoo/conditioner. Lets see what happens, I knew my mother was coming to visit that day.
I used the stuff anyway.
A few hours later my mom shows up with this special set of shampoo and conditioner meant to restore hair like mine.

Ahahah!

Also, I was writing a poem about being in the desert (my term for spiritual dryness and searching). I was writing a huge list about the desert to gain ideas. One of them was "A cactus is a plant too".

Later, someone who didn't like me very much yet is indebted to me because we're family, gave me a cactus (I had expressed the desire for plants). This was within a weeks period. I was soo delighted.

Today I accidentally closed the coffee pot twice when I intended to put some grains in for the brewing. Let's see what happens. People show up. Therefore I didn't get to enjoy silent coffee in solitude the way I like.

I read a horoscope (yes evil I know, though God has a way of rearing in his children, I don't recommend reading them if you are saved, I was not saved at the time) and it called me the Woman Who Runs With Wolves.
A few days later I wanted to check out this spiritual group yet could not find the place. And it was late. I realized that I wasn't meant to be in that group so I went to a book store nearby and searched for what I was suppose to find in there. Of course, there was a book called Woman Who Runs With Wolves, in which I found many truths and much knowledge, (Not a christian book, but something that helped lead me towards Christ).

Messages in that book were synonymous with what was occuring inside of me, as well as what was around me.

I don't know what angels are. Perhaps what I perceive as spirits (I am native american, and in that culture, our existance is spiritual) are what people call "angels".

Do you think?

May be. Angels are "messengers", and so if God chose to reveal Himself to you through these things and circumstances, He may have used "angels" to do it.

yes I have had these sort of experiences, a lot of them, not any longer thank God for it, and yes there are angels and they are ministering spirits and messengers from God but also there are demons.
If we deny the spiritual aspect of God I dont think we really believe in God, on the other hand its the heart God is interested in, not how spiritual we seem to be.
You dont think satan wants you to think he is real do you? Hes smart not stupid like us.

I think truth can be found in the strangest of places.

Our responsibility is to not assume all is truth, but question all that is and discern what is truth and what is not. That and an ice cream cone will get you a seat at a summer picnic! I know, the goal or ideal is easier said than done...takes mucho practice and a willingness to learn from the fauilures of our attempts.

Now...about that ice cream cone!

If anyone tells you that God doesn't use secular things to get your attention is a crazy fundamentalist, run away! That is what Satan wants you to think so that God can't get your attention. God loves you so much, he'll use ANYTHING to draw you to him! Anything else is a lie!!;)

yes Hornblower I did receive some spiritual abuse, why?

And the Devil is real. He's painted all over the bible (figure of speech).

I have come to understand that God created Satan and can use him for his purposes, therefore I don't dismiss the world. Yet, I am extremely cautious now as a result of some of my experiences. I fear God and abide.

Hi aftermath,

I think that there are times when God wants to tell us something, but sometimes events can really be just coincidences.

I know that some deny the existence of the devil, but others tend to overemphasize it. I like the first chapter of Job, it keeps things in perspective for me, according to that passage, the devil can't do more than God allows, it is like he is on a leash. Woof! Woof! Sure, I fear and respect God as well as love him, but I don't have to fear the devil. I used to try to interpret every "sign" I thought I saw and thinking that way made me nervous. I think that it is a matter of perspective. If I'm not looking for coincidences or spiritual manifestations, I don't find them. I think that if God is trying to get my attention he will succeed in doing so. Life is a lot easier for me that way.
