This forum meant a lot to me, and I have met some great friends.

I was hoping to meet some people who came from John MacArthur's fundamentalist system that I came from, but couldn't find a lot besides just a couple of people.

So I decided to write a series of blog entries about coming to terms with my fundamentalist past and write about John MacArthur's church.

Here is the introductory (http://davidcho.blogspot.com/2006/04/coming-to-terms-with-fundamentalism-i.html)post.

I just published a second one (http://davidcho.blogspot.com/2006/05/coming-to-terms-with-fundamentalism-ii.html) here. This one concerns the relationship between fundamentalism and the Bible.

I will have to catch up, but this forum is a bit hard to do it. Threads are hard to follow, but I am still hoping to catch up with a lot of you.

Thanks for your reference. Will try to "stop by" when I can. Keep up the good work! I'm glad to know that you've found some good friends here too.

P.S. Your comment about the difficulties of "catching up" here really resonate with me! It's an on-going dilemma for me to know how best to use time/energy to find relevant posts. Do stop by when you can!

I occasionally read at this forum and have always liked reading your thoughtful words. I, too, am an ex-fundamentalist and spent about 20 years among the Fundies. Were you able to find a copy of the book Growing up Fundamentalist?

No, I haven't. Thanks for the reminder. I believe the author's brand of fundamentalism is different from that of mine. His is more Southern, and his issues have a lot to do with growing years. I grew old with fundamentalism (adopted it around age 18), so we come from different angles.
