Hi all.

I am back. I ahve eben and am still on tour in a theatre production in germany, playing henry Higgins in PYGMALION. A very tough, and huge part.

I have had a lot of time with God and am slowly working through all the spirituaŽl abuse issues..I am still a bit cautious etc, and am still dreading going abck to London afetr the tour when I ahve to restettle in a church.

I am doing ministry on that ex gay board where i am being considered as a moderator to counsel young teenagers with same sex attraction, it is a christian site and its pretty good.

Hope to hera from a lot of you.

Blake

I was just thinking about you the other day and was wondering how things were going with you. It's been a LONG tour for you....we'll assume that's a GOOD thing, even though it must have been/would be so very wearing on you. Sounds like you've also done some productive "off-work" WORK, however!

Will hope that you will be able to find a church which meets your needs when you go back to London. Just take things at YOUR PACE and hold to what your faith tells you and which we believe....i.e. that "YOU ARE ACCEPTED"---(cf. Paul Tillich's good essay/sermon of that title in The Shaking of the Foundations. I seem to remember mentioning this before here....I've liked this book a LOT! So...please forgive me if I'm repeating myself to you!) DO make time for just YOU and some good old-fashioned "R&R" --when/as you can--before you find what the NEXT "phase" of your life will be, however! It sounds like you'll really need some time to "catch your breath" after this long tour.

Good for you for working with mentoring teens. That's a huge responsibility, and I'm sure you're giving that a lot of prayerful thought as to how to proceed.

Again...

WELCOME back...I'll be watching for more of your posts as you're able to "converse" with us here too.

Hi Blake,

I'm glad to hear from you. It sounds like you are doing some great personal growth.

Why do you have to go back to church when you get back to London?

Cheers!
Amy

Hi, Blake,

We haven't met - I joined in November, 2005 - but welcome back & nice to meet you! Congratulations on what must have been a very rewarding - although draining, I'm sure - stint as "Henry Higgins!"

I do hope and pray that you find a good church in London as that seems to be the way the Lord is leading you.

A couple of points in your message interest me. (I live in the States, in Michigan.) Do you know about the current state of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London? I haven't been to London in years, but I've been on their mailing list for quite awhile and have been ordering books, etc. from them. (It was C. H. Spurgeon's former pulpit... I'm just wondering. They sure publish a great catalogue!)

Also interested in ex-gay ministries. I have a good friend who is slowly making her way towards possibly serving in that capacity and because the Lord, several years ago, gave me a heart for and a prayer burden for those coming out of that lifestyle, I'm sort of trying to "shepherd" her toward where quite possibly, the Lord would have her serve Him. We have several over here; I think that as with anything else, some would be more credible and Biblically-based than others. I wouldn't want her to get involved in anything that would be less than optimal, both for the spiritual growth of those new to those ministries and for her own spiritual growth. I suppose there would be "marks" of a good such ministry and names that would be associated with a reputation for solid ministries to ex-gays. My friend was abused in the same church that kicked the stuffing out of me and I just want her to land in good places, whatever she does from now on.

Again, welcome back, and may the Lord bless you and keep you...
