View Full Version : Reply button missing...
Hi there...
I don't seem to be able to find the button to respond to posts anymore. I don't remember where it was, (seems like it was somewhere near the top), but I don't remember having too much trouble finding it, either. Now I can't though...
And... I keep adding people to my buddy list, but even after reading the FAQ, I'm not sure what that does.
Also, what does it mean to subscribe to a thread?
You must be very busy these days... :D

1) Reply button
I'm guessing that this is only a problem when you are using 'threaded display'. Is that right? The other display options put a 'post reply' graphic at the top and bottom of a thread and a 'quote' button within each message. I'm not sure why it's missing from the 'threaded display' but I'll look into it. For the time being, just click on the 'quote' button in the post to which you want to respond. This has the same effect as 'reply' but it copies the message you are responding to into your message. In almost all cases it is better to delete this quoted text. If everybody puts an earlier message into their post it makes the thread much more difficult to follow.
2) Buddy lists
I'm just learning about buddy lists myself. I'm not sure you can do much with them right now.
3) Subscribing to a thread
It's a system that will send you an email if someone responds to a thread to which you are subscribed. I think I have turned this off so it probably won't work. You can subscribe but nothing will happen. We can add this feature in later if it seems like it would be helpful.
Thank you very much. I feel better. I'm laughing, though, because I thought that the 'quote' button added an arbitrary quote to your post... I guess because the posts I read after I noticed that button had quotes from different people in them... I am easily confused, I admit. Blessings to you!
