Good morning/good afternoon all! I didn't know where "Forsaken" was posting, since I've not taken the time to read the previous posts, but wanted to give you all a "heads up" here as well.... See below for my original post on NACR.
Sort of complicated, difficult times for me of late---but I'll "be here" as able. Your continuig prayers appreciated, as I will be praying for you as well.
Grace and peace---

Hello Australians?!?!? I just noticed that....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...new member "Forsaken" is another person from Australia! YEA!
I was just going to send out a "g-day," seeing that we were on-line at the same time, when the name disappeared again. SO.....not sure where to post this, and I'll give the "shout-out" on both forums.
As able, I'll try to read the previous posts to get an idea of interests. In the meanwhile, I note this intriguing bio., as found with the member listing:
Location:
Australia
Interests:
Reading
Occupation:
DJ
As the wife of a librarian and as a passionate book-person myself, I'm intrigued at the broad category of "Reading"----assuming that there are probably SOME limitations to the interest! AND...as a music lover--but of classical music and "old-time" popular music, I'm curious about the occupation as "DJ" as well. (Ex-shep and others might be interested in that as well.)
In any case--- WELCOME aboard, "Forsaken!" Whatever brought you here, I hope that you will find at least something to reassure you and that you'll know that you're not "alone!"
Grace and peace---

Hello Theodora and Butterfly :)
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am very passionate about reading ;) I studied English at Uni with Teaching and I was excited at what plans the Education Department had for the new English curriculum in high schools for the coming years. (These are likely to have been implimented by now) Especially in the sense of teaching students how to identify their style or response to reading, and to develop critical reading skills for both study and pleasure. The association of literature to media and how certain agenda's are exploited through this medium.
When I suffered periods of insomnia for some years, I used to read this mind numbing text book on physics to put me to sleep. If I had alternatively read something of particular interest to me I would of stayed up all night. So, I have even found reading to be an excellent therapy. I love reading ancient texts, poetry, novels and biographys. History and religion both particularly captivate me. I am pretty much curious about everything in life
I accidently fell into the job of DJ'ing some 4-5 years ago, when a DJ friend who couldn't work on an occassion asked me to fill in. I do some club DJ work, but not as much now as when I started. Most of my work is for private functions such as weddings, birthdays or corporate events. The music is naturally varied with a few favourites that tend to be always popular. As a rule, I always play what is requested and try to find similar music for the rest of the event.
I found this site by accident. I have always had an interest in religion and I was searching (unsuccessfully) for the name of a cult/church in my local area. A friend of mine has an ex-husband who is giving her some grief. He used to be *normal* but starting attending a church with his new wife that encourages what I consider a very unhealthy outlook on society. When he has custody access of his two children (my friends girls) he fills their head with alot of junk. He has even told them that their mother is a whore for wearing makeup. He destroys *everything* that could have any link at all to *non-christian* beliefs. When his own mother went to Fiji, she brought back gifts for his girls, which he destroyed (they were sarongs and trinkets) because they were apparently evil. You probably get an idea of what sort of group he belonged to.
Anyway.. thanks again for the welcome and support :)

...if you're open to being "claimed!" (I have a little difficulty in reinforcing your own "labeling" of yourself as "Forsaken!" HERE, at least, I hope you can begin to know that you are "FOUND!!!!) I really smiled at your background information...separated by half-a-world we may be, but I DO think we've got some things in common!!!
In any case...as I can get to it, there are some other things that I'm presently reading/viewing which you might like. So....know that I'm thinking about you, DO appreciate what you've shared here, and will be back in touch when I can. (Rather "complicated" times for me of late, and I'm trying to limit my on-line time if I can.)
Blessings to you and yours this day/night.
