For some reason I went back and re-read some old threads and posts today--I think to try and see if I'm going forwards or backwards (and got another chuckle from some the the great jokes you all have shared). Back in July I started a post on the church and sexual abuse. I am now seeing a pastoral counselor. He metioned a few weeks ago how much he has learned from me and what I have gone thru. Since he actually is a pastor and not just a counselor, and I think sharing some of the posts on that thread will help him to help me better (and maybe others)----I'd like to get permission to share some of the posts.
Of course, I will print it out and cut out all names and geographic locations or anything that might identify anyone or any church. I will also cut out any posts if the person does not give permission or does not answer this request.
Thanks

For you, ninas, or anyone else... if anything I have posted on these forums could be useful in your recovery journey, feel free to take it and run with it. I know that nobody who asks permission is intending to take stuff and bite us back with it :D so the risk is low while the potential benefit is high.
And who knows... in the process we may just educate someone.

I give blanket permission for anyone here to print, share, post, broadcast, publish... anything I say here. I consider this a public forum and keep anything that is private in private conversation.

Share what you will of what I have written as well - don't know if it will be of any use other than listening to myself give shape to my personal demons (strange how that seems to make it seem not so scary), but if it can, go for it

...since I can't recall at the moment whether I've engaged in any of the threads where you might have been discussing your issues, but FWIW...I think it's great that you ARE trying to use thoughts you've found on these forum(s). (It's something I would like to do as well...somehow.) My "general posts" have mostly been on NACR, which you could find by doing a search on my forum name, if interested. From time to time, I've also posted references to various websites or literature which has helped me. As the saying is here...."Take what works and leave the rest!!!"
All the best to you as you continue your journey in recovery!

Even though I wasn't on the forum back in July, so I didn't post anything on that particular thread, I say "Ditto" to Willow's post here...

Permission granted, however, I will warn you that if you intend to print the "pastor birthing spiritual baby w/ parishoner-catcher in place" be prepared to be in the presence of a laughing fit by your therapist :D followed by spontaneous fits of giggles:p . Apparently, I have never been able to convey this story on any kind of serious note and have been told I should take it on the road. ?? Hmmm, maybe some Christian comedy club out there has an open-mike night??
Anyway, whatever helps you then all the more support to you! :)
Yes,
you can share all of my stuff too....in fact you don't have to change my name or location.
The way I see it, I say it outright because anything that I say in secret is still being heard by God....so I speak the truth as I view it.
goodluck, keep us posted on how things go.

My permission is granted to share any of my posts and their details... I feel as though the Lord led me to this board, and so if He wants to use these posts to help anyone beyond it or in another setting, it's His call!
May the Lord bless you richly, jjc! Happy New Year, everyone!

Sorry;
I addressed my previous 'permission' post to Ninas instead of jjc....
Just had Ninas on my mind I guess.

I can't think of any reason anything I have written would be benefical and therefore should be shared (except maybe as evidence that I am ready for "the home"), but you have my permission.:D Blessings on your recovery.:)

I can't remember if I posted there either, but go ahead and use what I wrote, it is on the net here anyway. If anything was really private, I put it in a PM.
