Anti-Christian Jeans Are Hot Items Among Sweden's Youth

STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- New anti-Christian jeans have become hot sellers in Sweden.

They're known as Cheap Monday and have a trendy tight fit and low price. They also have a logo that features a skull with a cross turned upside down on its forehead.

The logo's designer admits he has a "great dislike" for organized religion and said the logo is an "active statement against Christianity."

The predominant Lutheran Church of Sweden is reacting with a shrug. A spokesman said he doesn't think the logo is "much to be horrified about." But some Christians believe that approach is too soft. One vicar said the logo is a "deliberate provocation" against Christians.

In some cases, buyers have ripped off the Cheap Monday labels, or even returned the jeans once they realized what the logo represents.

I guess it's our turn for the discrimination and hatred---and don't we all know why a lot of people hate Christians!!!! If they had tried an anti-semetic or anti-gay or racial slur, bet those jeans wouldn't sell.

I too understand, but this is like a stab to my heart. In essence we are all painted with the same stripe. It will do no good to say the Christians that abuse and judge and not real Christians. They won't believe it and they don't care. You see, who is really hurt here is the Lord Himself. It is His name that is dishonored and it isn't the unsaved who are doing it either.

It's like the religion of Islam. Overall, the Muslims are good people - but a few extremists give their whole religion a bad name. It's the same with Christianity. Spiritual abuse is becoming more and more rampant in Christian churches, and it is giving the religion a bad name.

Glad you brought it up. I was planning to continue a chapter of step five.

I had to take a rationalistic approach in recovery. I knew it was not God's will to be in cults and abusive fellowship. I knew it was not God's will to be continue in sex and love addiction. Therefore it was God's will to recover. It helped me out of that box.

Also I like the acronyn G.O.D Good Orderly Direction. It was something I could hang my hat on.

Churches, Preachers, etc are just humans and abuse will happen... it aint gonna stop...

What we can do is understand it, learn to forgive, and learn to move on when necessary.... just understanding all of this along with grasping that human tribal membership is not a condition of heaven is enough for me...

this is true, and the irony is that within those communities their is abuse as well.

it is just not politically correct to say so out loud.

I try to avoid a certain kind of judgment on abusers. I can't say whether or not they are Christians at heart, but I can judge their behavior and label it as un-Christian. It is at the least a bad example, at the worst it leads to others labeling and rejecting all that profess to be Christian as false, though that isn't the case.
