just a quick update.
Daughter arrived yesterday for the holidays. We have enjoyed her visit.
Used my finest, sweetest Christian wifey tact to encourage hubby to come out of his "church bubble" and to help me with our home responsibilities.
I went to him and said something to the effect of,
"Get your butt up and help me get this house in order or you are going to be choking on my heel dust. I am tried of this crap."
So he did. The house looked like a Christmas card when daughter came in.
We have been doing ok, having a good holiday. Plan to keep having that good holiday too.

It is amazing what a little honesty done in the right tone of voice and careful selection of words will do for a relationship and get the results that are mutually beneficial! :D You must have taken my book suggestion of Crucial Conversations seriously...I'm so glad for you! :D

Thanks SH.
I was thinking of writing my own book about how to have a happy Christian marriage with a special chapter on "The five love languages".
Glad to hear that your Christmas is off to a good start! :D
Another thread is discussing the various ways that churches are dealing with Christmas falling on a Sunday this year: some are not having services, some are, some that normally hold more than one service are only holding one...etc. Anyway, is your hubby's church having service on Christmas?

Oh yes, they will be having a service Christmas morning. He will be home around 12:00 p.m. We usually have our family Christmas on Christmas Eve. His absence for only a half a day will not be bad. We plan to go to my cousins for Christmas dinner.
It is weird not being with him at church on Christmas, but with our family gathering schedules it it is workable. Now that I think about it, I am glad not to be at that church on Christmas Day. It would have ruined my day.

:D With your family gathering, you'll be so busy, you probably won't even be bothered that you're not at church with him! And you won't have to have your day ruined!!! :)
