November 11, 2004 will be the 20th anniversary of walking out of the bible school and the shepherding/discipleship movement. I would like to celebrate over dinner if anyone has a favorite spot. I know we have a world wide existance, but if anyone has a central location in the US, then I can use my flight benefits to get to it.
Any thoughts?
We'd love to help you celebrate... is Maine central at all???? :D You are always welcome to come and stay with us any time you can get out this way. Both of you. We have lots of room and love company.
Congratulations on your 'anniversary'. Your post made me wonder about the circumstances of your walking out of bible college. What happened? I'm really interested.

November, eh, ex-shep? That's a tricky month for Colorado - it can have very fall-like weather still, or be very very snowy. Arizona is nice at that time of the year, usually. But what strikes your fancy? ;) :)

Dear Exshep,,,,,
I take it you'll be alone, arriving at that central location,,,,cuz your mother-in-law is coming to visit...........Hate me if ya want,,,,I'll get over it!!!!....When we love another,,,,,,we never pose to them a choice between us and someone else to maintain that love,,,,,that is using love as a meat-axe!!!!!! The pressure you have at work,,,,,BELONGS AT WORK!!!!!!!,,,,there are two things to remember,,,,,,1 it is better with someone you love,to be kind, than to be right.....2 There are those in our lives whos spiritual well being and overall happiness are within our influance,,,,,,we can never excape that fact........

The Worry Tree
The Carpenter I hired to help me restore and old farmhouse had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence.
On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
"Oh, that's my trouble tree", he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning I pick them up again."
"Funny thing is", he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there ain't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."
